Biography:

At just 16 he was chosen by Claudio Abbado as the first solo horn in the orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, a role he still holds. In the years 1979-80, always with Abbado, he won the position of first horn in the European Community Young Orchestra, a period in which he was also awarded in various international competitions such as the G.B. Viotti (1978) F. Verganti of Stresa. From 1981 onwards he studied the symphonic lyric repertoire with some of the most prestigious conductors as: C. Kleiber, L. Bernstein, S. Osawa, G. Solti, W. Sawallisch, C.M. Giulini, V. Gergiev. Among the most significant recordings with R. Muti: the symphony for four soloists K297 by W. Mozart, the integral of the BAISER DE LA FEE by Stravinsky, the serenade n ° 1 by Bramhs for Sony Classical. With C.M Giulini the nine symphonies of Beethoven and with R. Chailly two unpublished sung by G. Rossini as a forced horn. On several occasions he has performed Mozart's concerts at the Scala with the Accademia orchestra, which he has been teaching since 2000. With the orchestra of the Italian Swiss Radio he recorded the concerts for the horn by J. Haydn. He held Masterclasses in Italy and Japan (University of Ashikaga and Sapporo Summer Festival). Since 2008 he has been working as the first guest horn with the Berlin Staatskapelle Orchestra, with which he has performed the integral of the Brukner symphonies with which he performed the integral of the Brukner symphonies and the Wagnerian cycle under the direction of D.Baremboim.
