Barbano Pier Filippo

Biography:

Pier Filippo Barbano is principal flute in the Orchestra of the Arena di Verona.

He started his musical studies at Conservatorio G. Verdi of Milano, where he obtained his Bachelor degree in flute under the guidance of R. Ferri. He furthered his studies in Switzerland, where he obtained the Master of Arts in Music Pedagogy, studying in the class of A. Rutz. Later he completed with best marks two post-graduate courses at the Conservatorio G. Verdi of Milano, one in Orchestra Performance and the other in Flute Performance, under the guidance of G. Pretto and M. Zoni.

During his career he collaborated as principal flute with Ensemble Bernasconi, Orchestra dell'Accademia della Scala, Orchestra Giovanile Italiana, "Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano" , "Filarmonica della Scala", “I Pomeriggi Musicali” of Milano, the orchestra of "Teatro la Fenice" in Venice, "Filarmonica di Milano, the orchestra “Maggio Musicale Fiorentino”. He performed under the baton of musical conductors as Z. Mehta, J. E. Gardiner, Adam and Ivan Fischer, J. Tate, F. Luisi, D. Oren, M. Mariotti, A. Battistoni e M. Armiliato.  He is active in chamber music with the ensembles Trio Schau and Ensemble Duomo and the Zephyrus futes ensemble.
